The concept of Sip and Ship was hatched in Diana Naramore’s kitchen over a cup of coffee with her husband Steve. Diana recalls the two tossing around ideas of how they could diversify and improve the concept of traditional mailing systems, and she decided to fold in the coffee shop and gift shop elements to enhance what is often thought of as a necessary but tedious errand.
Before Sip and Ship, Diana had a career in the cruise industry and later put herself through night school earning a degree at the University of Phoenix in Business Administration and Management. In 2002, Diana and Steve opened Sip and Ship in Ballard and five years later opened another location in Greenwood.
Diana says, “I may be the visionary, but it truly takes a team to make Sip and Ship work.” Both locations offer on-site and remote mailboxes, shipping, notary, and printing services along with great coffee and fun merchandise to peruse.
Sip and Ship was able to remain open during the pandemic due to the mailing and shipping side of the business, but the business has experienced some challenges. Fortunately, Diana says, “COVID has had a positive effect on the entrepreneurial spirit! Millions of people are venturing out on their own to start their own business and Sip and Ship is the perfect place to sign up for a business address (your name and company name, our address, your suite number) with a traditional mailbox rental or with a remote/virtual mailbox rental (we scan your mail to you). Both are great for any online business or one that has you on the go! Sip and Ship serves as your business epicenter.”
