At Sip and Ship, we are committed to celebrating diversity in our community year round by making intentional choices in partnering with Black artists, entrepreneurs and businesses. This is critical for creating beautiful and inclusive spaces where everyone is proud to be a part of, and feels at home in.
Our cafe bakery cases would not have the same sparkle without the most beautifully decorated and delicious macarons from Aliyah Davis of Black Magic Sweets. Not to mention our ever-evolving partnership with La’Kita Williams and her CoCreate Work team in putting on our quarterly Coffee and Conversation series with founders, entrepreneurs, and women in business.
This month in particular, we want to highlight their incredible work. Along with Black Artists like Cody Burt Creative, creator of greeting cards made from recycled products depicting Black Pop Culture Icons. We hope you will admire the strength and beauty of Alice Walker, Angela Davis, and Maya Angelou. On the back of each card is an inspirational quote from each one of these powerhouse changemakers. We also proudly feature Black Joy Paper, a collective to express individuality and amplify voices, and Nicole Marie Paperie, an infusion of brightness, warmth, and whimsy. Be sure to check out these talented Black Artists when you’re in the shop this week
We’re grateful for the incredible entrepreneurs, artists, and customers that make Sip and Ship shine! Thank you for supporting our small but vibrant team and business. Our goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home. Sip and Ship fosters diversity, encourages collaboration, and empowers others.
Let’s continue to spread the love this month, and year-round! Click here for an extensive directory of Black businesses to support in Seattle.
