Sip and Ship Scoop
The little things that make a neighborhood feel like home.
One of my favorite parts of what we do at Sip and Ship is watching the rhythms of the neighborhood change with the seasons. Summer has its own pace here: people linger over coffee a little longer, kids head off to camp with nervous excitement, and parents quietly start gathering things for college move-in day — even though they're not quite ready for summer to end. We have a front-row seat to all of it, and every day we're reminded that what comes through our doors isn't just coffee, gifts, or packages. It's connection. It's the little things we do for the people we care about. This month, we're celebrating a few of our favorite summer traditions. A Summer Pause There are few things better than an iced cold brew on a warm Seattle afternoon. Whether you're checking off your errands, meeting a friend, or simply taking the long way home, we hope you'll stop in, cool off, and stay awhile. Sometimes a ten-minute pause is exactly what the day needs. A Little Piece of Greenwood Not long ago, a customer came in looking for a gift for a friend who'd moved away. They chose one of our Greenwood Caps, smiled, and said, "He'll know exactly where this came from." That's stayed with me ever since. When we designed the Greenwood Cap, we hoped it would become more than something people wear — a reminder of a favorite neighborhood, familiar streets, Saturday mornings, and the feeling of belonging somewhere. Each cap features our signature GREENWOOD embroidery and iconic star, is made of quality cotton twill with an adjustable one-size-fits-all fit, and now comes in fun new summer colors. Designed exclusively by Sip and Ship and available only in our shop and online, it's a little piece of Greenwood to wear, keep, or send to someone you love. Words That Last There's something wonderfully intentional about sitting down to write a note. Maybe it's to say thank you. Maybe it's to encourage a friend. Maybe it's simply to say, I'm thinking about you. We're proud to carry the beautifully illustrated boxed note cards of local artist Misha Zadeh — a Greenwood resident and longtime Sip and Ship customer whose work celebrates the beauty found in everyday moments. Her boxed notes are perfect for pen-pal correspondence, heartfelt thank-yous, or reaching out just because. In a world of quick texts and emails, a handwritten note is still something people hold onto. Sending a Little Piece of Home Every summer we help families put together care packages for campers, and it's rarely the big things that matter most. It's the favorite candy tucked into a corner, the deck of cards, a few pieces of bubble gum, a sticker, a handwritten note. Those little surprises have a way of making someone feel remembered. Our shelves are stocked with treats, gifts, and package toppers perfect for sharing with someone who's away this summer. College Move-In Starts Now Every July we hear the same sentence: "I can't believe it's almost time." Whether someone you love is heading off to their first dorm room or a new apartment, now is the perfect time to start collecting the little comforts of home — favorite snacks, coffee, cozy essentials, photos, and the familiar things that make a new place feel a little less unfamiliar. When move-in day arrives, we'll help you pack it all securely and ship it with care. A Moment We'll RememberThat customer and their Greenwood Cap have stuck with me all month — a small package carrying a big feeling, on its way to someone who'll know exactly where it came from. It's a good reminder of why we do what we do. Good to Know Need a Notary? Whether you need a document notarized in the shop or you're looking for a mobile notary who can come to your home, office, hospital, or care facility, we're here to help. Questions or ready to schedule an appointment? Simply text Sip and Ship at 206-794-7886, and we'll help you find a time that works. Planning Ahead? Summer calendars fill up quickly. If you're sending a camper off with a care package, preparing for college move-in, or shipping a thoughtful gift to family or friends, we're here to help you pack it with care and choose the best shipping option. Here's to cold coffee on warm afternoons, handwritten notes worth keeping, and always having a little piece of home to share. With gratitude, Diana and Your Sip and Ship Team Sip and Ship Scoop
