Out of the 4 things #CHWAG stands for, AUTHENTICITY resonates with me the most. Outside of its text book definition of being genuine, authenticity also means being true to yourself- not putting on a show for other people or having a front, but living your best life because you deserve it and life is too short not to be yourself. In addition, I think integrity plays a huge role in being authentic. If we don't have integrity are we really being sincere?
Although authenticity comes as the third core value in the #CHWAG acronym, I believe it is the first and most important, an umbrella that the other values fall under. Without authenticity, where do we find the courage to come to work each day, to serve customers, and face adversity? Without authenticity what motivates us to put in hard work not only in our roles at Sip and Ship but in our daily lives as well? Without authenticity where do we find the gratitude for the simple joys in life, the blessing of having a job, or the support of friends and family?
When we are true to ourselves and living our best life it is so much easier to walk in courage, work hard, and have gratitude then if we were being fake. I encourage you, if you're feeling a little phony, ask your self, "Am I being true to myself? Am i being sincere in my interactions with others? Is who I am when no ones is watching the same person that everyone sees?" Living authentically lifts the weight of others expectations of you and puts you in the driver seat- be the person you want to be so that you will have the determination to be courageous, work hard and be grateful for your many blessings. .
