Sip and Ship is so excited to announce the opening of the new Nordic Heritage Museum! I was fortunate to get a behind-the-scenes peek at Ballard’s newest treasure, which will open to the public on May 5th from 1pm-5pm.
I was struck by the scope and depth of this project and how the story and lineage of the Nordic countries uphold the values of openness, social justice, entrepreneurship, equality, and respect for the environment - both land and sea.
As you enter the museum, you will notice the birch trees planted outside and hand-carved birch wood on the entrance doors and also reappears throughout the different exhibits - Nordic culture celebrates the birch, as it represents the beginning of a journey. Visiting the Nordic Museum will certainly be a journey and a celebration of this amazing culture.
Great for families, groups, or individuals. The Nordic Museum will transport you to Scandinavia; a rich and diverse culture that is woven into the fabric and history of Ballard. It is a supremely well done public space complimented by a cafe, event space, classrooms and a gift shop. You and yours will truly enjoy this exceptional community landmark.
Bring your ticket stub to Sip and Ship and receive our thanks for supporting this newest addition to the neighborhood. During the month of May, we would love to treat you to a cup of coffee and/or one of our homemade chocolate-chip-cookies.
Looking forward to hearing about your Nordic Museum experience!
